So the Alice obsession continues and it is official between this book and the other books I have read some of them already reviewed others I have not reviewed yet, my favorite pairing from the series has changed.  Boris was my favorite with Alice but that has dwindled as I read through the Cheshire Cat Waltz.  As I’ve stated with other books with Eliot he has grown to become a very strong favorite.  This book as sealed things for me and Alice and Eliot is my favorite couple from the series.  While Eliot is rough on the edges and a hit man and number two in the mafia he has a sweet side that is adorable.

This book had me from the start as we learn more about Eliot that I had never known such as how he had purposefully broken a clock of his best friend so they couldn’t be replaced. The story goes on and Alice determines to go home so as not to hurt Eliot as she thought she had and she felt bad for leaving her sister.  What happens as she follows this path is both shocking and had me on the edge of my seat and almost ready to cry.  I will not state what happened because that is way too big of a reveal to spoil in any way, but it made the book a must read for me.  It was very well done and had the perfect ending.

I really feel that this book is a 5 out of 5 pages that was how much I enjoyed the story, and I encourage you that once you have a feel for the world which you might have from reading a number of my reviews you can delve into My Fantastic Rabbit volume 1 and follow it up with this volume which was absolutely superb.

Okay so I have said in the past the Boris is my favorite person to pair Alice with when it comes to the Alice in the Country of series but I feel that that is quickly changing.  I know from the first books where Alice was not picking a person and just getting to know everyone I loved the interaction with Boris and I still enjoy the interaction with him in the Country of Clover books but the story with Eliot on the Country of Clover was adorable and this one is even cuter.  I absolutely loved this story it was so cute and sweet and innocent in a lot of ways.

This story takes place early when Alice is in the Country of Hearts and she meets the Hatter Mafia right off and spends her time there choosing to live with them.  As she gets to know Eliot the time they spend together is cute.  They are both a bit awkward and unsure and just so excited when they get to spend time together.  I also like how when Alice gets lost and cannot get back to Hatter Mansion she keeps wondering and thinking of Eliot and then wondering why she keeps thinking of his first while he takes the time to search for her and try to find where Alice has gone.

The story also hold interest as Alice kidnapped and is in a precarious position at the end of this first book in the My Fantastic Rabbit Series.  Seriously Eliot is freaking adorable and though he can be trigger happy and had a dark and shady job in the Hatter Mafia working for Blood Dupree, he is absolutely cute and sweet.  Over all I think this would be a Manga that I would give a 4 out of 5 starts as this is one that I very much want to add to my personal  collection to read again later, which is rare for me with these books I like to read them but I don’t feel like buying them but this one I want to own.

Book Reivew – Alice in the Country of Clover March Hare by QuinRose

So it is half way through November now and I am sure you are sick and tired of Alice reviews.  I know I’m sick of writing them though I’m not sick of reading them.  Yes, I enjoy them that much.  Any way I promise this will be the last one for a while.  It’s not the last of the comic/manga genera but it is the last Alice story for now.  I’ll promise for the reminder of the year no more Alice from me.

Anyway this story if focused of course on the March Hare also known as Eliot.  He has always been a fun and awkward character he is number 2 in the mafia and very loyal to Blood Dupre who is the head of the mafia.  He’s a very focused individual of doing his job well which includes shoot first ask questions later though there are no questions as all are dead, but still Eliot has always been a bit of an awkward bunny.  I’ve found him to be cute at times with his obsession with carrot anything and I love that Alice usually wants nothing more than to squeeze his ears (something that she does not want to do with Peter White the other rabbit in the series.

Anyway with just how awkward and cute Eliot is, the same is true of the relationship as Eliot is unsure of himself and how things are with Alice and she is equally unsure and they sort of dance around each other in the story.  Of course Eliot loves Alice and protects her no matter what and Alice eventually realizes her feelings for him and book is just a ball of cuteness peppered with gun fights and jealousy from the other characters that also love Alice.  Over all it is a classic Alice/QuinRose story and I overall enjoyed it particularly the end.

With this review I believe outside of Boris, I find the mafia family to be the most interesting and fascinating characters of the series and I think on the whole I will enjoy most books that focuses’ Alice living there and being with them.  Over all I think I’ll give this book a solid and strong 3 pages out of 4 saying that it wasn’t bad, but it was good but not overly remarkable either.  It is a good light read to pass some of the time.
